About Us

ImageMover was founded in 2013 when two neuroradiologists from the University of Wisconsin designed a secure solution for managing images at the point-of-care. Through sophisticated integrations with all the large electronic health records (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech, etc), ImageMover has become the de facto platform for managing point-of-care imaging workflows in large integrated delivery networks (IDNs), academic institutions, and children’s hospitals.

As the COVID pandemic changed the globe in early 2020, the need for point-of-care testing services increased dramatically. COVID testing was happening in parking lots, university cafeterias, hockey rinks, and elsewhere. As more organizations tried to leverage testing to continue operations as usual, it was apparent not everyone had the tools  to manage point-of-care testing workflows or the complex reporting requirements for these test results.

The need for mobile software to manage COVID testing workflows was apparent and ImageMover’s history of managing point-of-care workflows positioned them well to help with the pandemic. In the summer of 2020, test distributors partnered with ImageMover to extend our technology to manage point-of-care testing. Over the next few months, ImageMover grew the application to support professional sports organizations, large universities, distribution centers, and testing service providers across the United States.

Less than 9 months after the first point-of-care testing went live, ImageMover partnered with Becton, Dickinson, and Company (BD) to bundle the ImageMover application with the BD Veritor Plus System. "The ImageMover app helps resolve a major administrative reporting burden for 'return to normal' testing and further strengthens the advantages of using a digitally read test like the BD Veritor™ Plus System," said Dave Hickey, president of Life Sciences for BD. Since then, ImageMover has taken hundreds of customers live on the software and processed millions of test results.

As point-of-care testing popularity evolved from COVID testing to any point-of-care testing (COVID, flu, drug screening, STD, etc.) to point-of-care workflows (clinical decision support), ImageMover released Workflow Services by ImageMover. Workflow Services by ImageMover is a highly configurable software platform that provides seamless point-of-care medical workflow software solutions. The company’s solutions utilize exclusive, patented approaches to securely capture and integrate medical data to simplify communication and enhance patient care.

In February of 2023, Workflow Services partnered with QuidelOrtho to bring a revolutionary combination of diagnostic hardware and customized software to simplify the test-to-treat process for pharmacists. The solution combines QuidelOrtho’s Sofia 2 analyzer and Workflow Services’ end-to-end platform, creating a system of onboarding patients up to 80% faster than the manual process. “This solution addresses major challenges pharmacists face when offering a test-to-treat program, such as lack of staffing and time for complex reporting and record keeping. We’re excited to partner with Workflow Services to continue to build comprehensive pharmacy programs for the new age of clinical service providers and to expand access to healthcare, especially in underserved communities,” said Cheryl Miller, Vice President, Retail Sales and Marketing, QuidelOrtho.

“We know that automated reporting can save organizations administering point-of-care testing 50% of the time it takes to conduct tests. Instead of making marginal returns by sending sample collections to labs, pharmacy customers can now be empowered to receive a higher return by owning the testing fully within their store.
